I managed to get to the exhibition in Chepstow for a couple of days.
It is still open and a fabulous venue for the paintings.
Do get there if you can all the team are friendly and eager to chat with anyone who come in. A great place to rest and have a cuppa as the kettle is always on!

The New Generation Exhibition paintings are on display in Eden Methodist chapel, Jacobstow, Bude, Cornwall. If you’re around the area, I can really recommend going to see the original paintings….they’re very different from the prints!

The New Generation Exhibition recently featured in an article in the Southampton Art Society Magazine:
A series of new and controversial Christian paintings on silk by Anne House (Salvation army hall ) in Shirley Southampton. Based on scripture, but for those of us that do not know scripture, no matter, for this exhibition is about life, humanity and the world. In wonderful colour and extremely moving. The hall is perfect for the display of this work as daylight streams through the windows on both sides filling the place with light. I left the hall out into the spring sunshine and amongst the humanity of Shirley High street looking at people with new eyes. Beautiful, thought provoking, painful. Thank you Anne for putting colour into the darkness and giving the new generation

I didn’t expect to be able to get to the exhibition at all this week but managed to pop in for a few hours both yesterday and today. The venue is perfect and the folks at the Salvation Army hall are so welcoming and such a blessing.
It gave me a wonderful opportunity to unexpectedly meet old friends and have great conversations with people who had come in to look at the paintings. If I’m able to, perhaps I will see you there sometime during the week.

The New Generation Exhibition will be in the Salvation Army hall in Shirley, Southampton from tomorrow, 26th March. The venue is situated next to Sainsbury’s car park and will be open daily from 10.00 am until 8.00pm.
It may well be the last opportunity to see it in Southampton for quite a while as I want to concentrate on getting the second exhibition “on the road”.

Each day that the exhibition is open the atmosphere and the things that happen are always different. Wednesday was a day of deep gentle work. The peace in the place was wonderful and people sat in front of paintings for a long time.
It was a time where I and others had the opportunity to pray with individuals all day, from 10 o’clock in the morning till 7.00pm. Tiring but a wonderful priviledge!
Thursday was totally different. Before it opened, we were praying for the people who might come in to the exhibition, and we felt that the Lord gave us the word “salvation”.
The exhibition is being hosted at the church where I am employed as an outreach worker. Every day during the week we have the church open in the morning so that folk can come in and have a drink, breakfast and a chat. One of the ladies who has come along nearly every day for a year since we opened it, came yesterday to help with the exhibition. She was impacted by the painting called “joy” in the foyer and we began to talk. We then went into the church and she gave her life to Jesus in front of the crown of thorns.
If the exhibition only came to the church for that one lady and we opened the church every day for coffee, for a year..it was worth all the effort to see her smiling face. Great parties in heaven yesterday then!!
