Next year 2012
Plans are being made for the New Generation exhibition to go to Cornwall for perhaps the whole of April. Also later on for it to be displayed in Fareham ,Hampshire in the summer.I will post the dates when things are finalised
Painting and drawing
I am spending a lot of time in the studio but not silk painting.
I am in a season of “tent making”
Interesting!
And the day ends with …
In my eagerness to show my granddaughter (who LOVES horseradish sauce), I went to pull up a root of it with all my might. Imagine my surprise when it suddenly gave way so much more easily than I had anticipated, and I ended up flat on my back amongst the pots in my herbgarden. I had to be rescued by three generations of family – is it worth it for horseradish sauce? YES!!!
You know it’s going to be a mad day when ….
Instead of hairspray, you use polish. My son-in-law tells me I have nice, shiny hair. Am I thinking about painting again ?
Crossroads exhibition
I am really looking forward to putting up the second exhibition at the “Warrior Bride “conference in West End (near Southampton)at the beginning of June.It is exciting to see it out of the studio after such a long time and am thrilled to be part of the conference. Thank you Faith for sharing this amazing vision.
Bromham,What a fabulous time we had.
My thanks to all those many people who worked so hard to make the week at Bromham Baptist church so wonderful.Anne Drake and I felt part of the family there so quickly.People had been praying and working behind the scenes for a long time and God was so faithful to us.We watched as daily God answered our prayers to healing, restoration, salvation and drew many “prodigals” back home.Thank you, all at Bromham, for your committment, hard work, fellowship and friendship.
A new direction!
I and those who know me well, have been amazed at the new things that I have been working on.
Not painting but writing.
As I haven’t seriously written anything worthwhile since my finals a hundred years ago it’s somewhat of a shock!
I’ve taken lots of photographs over the last ten years that’ve just been sitting on my computer, waiting for somebody else to put some words to them. I know very little about photography, just point the camera and click, but these particular images were taken in moments that visually interested or amazed me.
You can access some of them by going to the “A Fresh Glimpse” section of this web page.
If you want a copy, there are A4 prints available.
Enjoy!
This sunday evening in the New Forest
I’ll be taking a few paintings, some new and some old, to Wellspring church in Tiptoe in the New Forest on Sunday 14th March (the service starts at 6.00pm)
I’ll be sharing stories about the paintings so do come along if you are in the area and hopefully find time to talk to me and the good folk there.
Finished!
I have at long last finished the new painting.Tired but relieved and thrilled that it is complete.
I am inspired for the next one and have already done a few sketches
So watch this space!
Started!
Yesterday I started the painting and am excited
about this particular journey .
Watch this space!
Back again
Back in the studio after a long absence.
People often ask me how long it takes to paint a picture…but it is never the painting of it that takes the time but the thinking about it.
As I paint from my own personal experiences on my journey, I also have to live it!
This one I’m about to do has been whizzing round in my head for years but I suspect at long last I have a “handle” on it.
I know what it has to say, but it’s getting the right visual image in my head to say it.
In the end it has to show that Jesus has the victory in ALL situations.

New webpage
If you’re one of the folk who often look at the web page, it probably seems like not a lot is happening. However there is always so much background ‘stuff’ that God is doing with me. It then takes me time to process it, pray about it and live it before a painting emerges.
Thanks to Geoff, my son, we’ve developed this new site. I’m not the greatest technogran in the world(!), but we’re hoping that the more up to date format will give me the opportunity to share a bit more. Being a bit of a visual, rather than a word person I often “see” things that God is doing rather than hear them.
A new feature that I’m hoping to use more is my Flickr website. Over the last few years I have taken quite a few photographs that have spoken powerfully to me, and I’ll hopefully be uploading some of them soon!
Time to paint!
I took this photo recently in my studio. I have been recovering from a complete knee replacement(ouch!) and have been unable to stand to paint. How could I have let my paintbrushes get covered in cobwebs?! A friend told me a few weeks ago, that painting was what I was made for (I’m not sure that is completely true). I wonder how many of us just let things tick over, instead of fully embracing what God has planned for us.
